Kilkenny roads under speed review

South Kilkenny roads are to undergo a speed review.

Kilkenny Councillors have been calling for the current speed limits to be re-examined due to road safety concerns.

Pat Dunphy, the Cathaoirleach of the Piltown District, says the review will be open for submissions from the public so that everyone can share their opinions on the matter.

As of now, the planned review of local speed limits only covers secondary local roads in the area; national roads are to be taken care of in conjunction with Transport Infrastructure Ireland.

Cllr Pat Dunphy says they (the council) want to be able to review the speed limits on primary national roads as well as secondary local roads, and not leave all decisions to be made by Transport Infrastructure Ireland.
