Bike Week 2021 kicks off

Bike week, an annual event that promotes all things great about bikes, started on Sunday the 12th of September and will end on this coming Saturday (September 18th), the Irish Times reports.
Due to a mix of less busy roads and the commitments from the Government to build safer cycling infrastructure, the last year and a half has seen an increase in cycling’s popularity.

So, what better way to celebrate cycling than by taking part in Bike Week 2021.

In partnership with the National Transport Authority (NTA), funding is provided by the Department of Transport to Local Authorities and Local Sports partnerships throughout the country to contribute towards a variety of events both on the ground and online throughout the week.

Bike Week encourages new and lapsed cyclists to get on the saddle and make cycling part of their lifestyle by holding Group Cycles, Family Fun Cycles and many other bike-related events taking place across the country.
